Gospel’s Greatest Night Returns: The 41st Annual Stellar Awards Airs This Sunday on BET with Star-Studded Lineup
Gospel music’s most anticipated night is just days away. The 41st Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards, hosted by the incomparable Kirk Franklin, will air this Sunday, August 30, at 8:00 p.m. ET on BET, with an encore presentation at 10:30 p.m. ET. Taped in Charlotte, North Carolina, at the Spectrum Center under the theme “Feels Like Home,” the ceremony promises an unforgettable evening of worship, inspiration, and world-class performances. The star-studded lineup features an extraordinary array of talent spanning traditional gospel, contemporary worship, and genre-blending collaborations, including Jekalyn Carr, John P. Kee, Tye Tribbett featuring ABLAZE, PJ Morton, Darrel Walls, Aaron Cole, Marvin Sapp, William Murphy, and many more. Host Kirk Franklin will also take the stage for a special performance, adding to the night’s electric atmosphere.
The evening will also honor two of gospel’s most influential voices with prestigious awards. Tasha Cobbs Leonard will receive the Aretha Franklin Icon Award, celebrating her remarkable career and global impact as a worship leader and recording artist, while Pastor Mike Jr. will be presented with the Thomas A. Dorsey Most Notable Achievement Award, recognizing his groundbreaking contributions and commitment to expanding the reach of the Gospel. “For more than four decades, the Stellar Awards have honored the artists, songwriters, musicians, and visionaries whose faith-filled contributions have shaped culture and touched lives around the world,” said Don Jackson, Founder of the Stellar Awards. As the ceremony makes its national cable premiere on BET before expanding to broadcast syndication, this year’s Stellar Awards promises to be a night of celebration, unity, and the enduring power of gospel music.
