“Catch Me If You Can” – Tennessee Man Dares Cops to Find Him on Social Media… So They Did. Fast.

Shelby County, TN – In what could only be described as the least successful game of hide and seek in Tennessee history, a 25-year-old man wanted on a warrant decided it was a good idea to challenge the cops on social media.

Spoiler alert: It wasn’t.

Devon Bart, 25, being arrested

Devon Bart, a man clearly blessed with more Wi-Fi than wisdom, was arrested Friday after taunting the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office with photos and a not-so-subtle dare:

“If I’m going to jail, y’all gonna have to come find me first.”

So they did. And they brought handcuffs.

📸 Selfies & Shenanigans

The suspect, with a warrant out for a domestic-related assault, took to a popular social media platform to post pictures of himself living large, possibly mistaking a warrant for a weather warning.

Deputies say Bart posted snapshots along with defiant captions that practically screamed, “Come at me, bro.”

Turns out, the Sheriff’s Office did, in fact, come at him, bro.

Sheriff’s Office: “This Ain’t a Netflix Series, Sir.”

Chief Deputy Anthony Buckner was not amused.

“Evading Deputies is not a game — ignoring the law has serious consequences,” he posted on the department’s Facebook page.
“We take all warrants and the law very seriously at the Sheriff’s Office.”

Translation: We play Monopoly, not Manhunt.

Bart was located, arrested without incident (a surprise, given the online drama), and promptly booked into the Shelby County Jail, where he now has a real audience—and no access to filters.

Internet Fame, Jail Edition

While the original post has been taken down, screenshots reportedly live on in group chats, Facebook comment sections, and, presumably, the Sheriff’s Office break room—right next to the donuts.

The Sheriff’s Office even issued a gentle warning to other would-be social media stuntmen:

“Taunting law enforcement online might get you likes, but it’ll definitely get you locked up.”

🗣️ Locals React

One Shelby County resident put it best:

“This man basically tagged the cops in his own mugshot. I can’t even get my cousin to show up to brunch and here comes the Sheriff in 15 minutes flat.”

🎯 The Moral of the Story?

If you’re wanted by the law, don’t post a selfie challenge to the police. They will accept. They will respond. And spoiler: They don’t miss.
