In a dramatic turn of events that has sent shockwaves through the Christian broadcasting community, Joyce Meyer Ministries and XO Marriage founder Jimmy Evans have officially announced their departures from the Daystar Television Network. Joyce Meyer and Jimmy Evans Cut Ties with Daystar Television Amid Child Abuse Scandal

Joyce Meyer Ministries Takes a Stand for Truth

Joyce Meyer Ministries, known globally for its commitment to sharing the life-changing message of Jesus Christ, has severed ties with Daystar after becoming troubled by recent allegations. Dan Meyer, Joyce Meyer’s son and CEO of the ministry, made the announcement in a candid email shared with The Dallas Morning News.

“Daystar has been a long-standing broadcast partner, helping our ministry to share the life-changing message of Jesus around the world. However, in recent weeks, we have become troubled by allegations surrounding the Daystar Television Network,” Meyer wrote.

“Due to the nature of these allegations and my mom’s own story, we feel a profound responsibility to stand for truth and create space for its discovery. In addition, we must always be sensitive to the hearts of those walking on this journey with us,” he continued.

Dan Meyer further explained that the decision to suspend programming was made after considerable prayer and deliberation by the ministry’s leadership team, including Joyce Meyer herself. “When and if this situation is satisfactorily resolved, we will potentially consider resuming programming on Daystar,” he concluded.

Jimmy Evans Charts a New Course

XO Marriage founder Jimmy Evans also announced his departure from Daystar, citing a shift in focus toward his Bible prophecy ministry, endtimes.com Tipping Point Ministries. In a statement last week, Evans expressed excitement about his new direction.

“This next year, in early 2025, I’m transitioning out of XO to do endtimes.com full-time, and I’m very excited about that,” Evans said. “I’ve had so many things on my plate for so long, and now endtimes.com Tipping Point Ministries is going to be the focus of my ministry going forward.”

Evans’s departure follows backlash over his recent comments supporting Joni Lamb, Daystar’s co-founder and president, as well as his endorsement of her marriage to Doug Weiss, a sex therapist. Critics have questioned Evans’s alignment with Daystar amidst the unfolding scandal.

Allegations and Controversy at Daystar

The controversy surrounding Daystar stems from accusations made by Jonathan Lamb, the son of co-founder Joni Lamb. Jonathan and his wife alleged that a family member abused their daughter and accused Joni Lamb of attempting to cover up the incident. In response, Joni Lamb vehemently denied the allegations and vowed to take legal action to defend herself and her family.

“I want to assure you that all the allegations that are circulating against myself, my late husband, and other members of my family are completely false,” Lamb said in a statement. “We have already begun to take legal steps to defend ourselves and will address the accusations in a God-honoring way.”

Despite these denials, the scandal has led to a growing exodus of prominent ministries from Daystar’s platform. Among those departing are televangelist Jesse Duplantis, Hank and Brenda Kunneman, Laura-Lynn Tyler Thompson, Baruch Korman, Lance Wallnau, and Jack Graham of PowerPoint Ministries.

A Time of Reflection and Accountability

The departures of Joyce Meyer Ministries and Jimmy Evans underscore the broader impact of the allegations facing Daystar. For many, this moment represents a critical juncture in ensuring accountability and transparency within Christian media.

As the scandal unfolds, viewers and partners of Daystar Television Network are left grappling with difficult questions about trust and integrity. For Joyce Meyer Ministries and Jimmy Evans, however, the decision to step away signals a clear commitment to prioritizing truth and protecting their respective ministries’ reputations.

In a world hungry for hope and authenticity, these bold moves serve as a reminder that even amidst controversy, the call to uphold the Gospel remains unwavering.
