Nashville pop punk band Keep Warm is releasing “Like You (feat. Relient K)” on Friday, October 23, with Matthew Thiessen, frontman of the Grammy-nominated band behind Mmhmm, Five Score and Seven Years Ago, and “Be My Escape,” on vocals. For Keep Warm, the feature is a full-circle moment. The band’s sound grew out of the same melodic, energetic pop punk that Relient K carried from Christian rock into the mainstream in the 2000s, and “Like You” puts the two on the same track. The song was written by Keep Warm’s Kevin Campbell with Sam Barnhart, a founding member of ’90s rock band Bleach, and Warren David. It came out of two big life moments landing at the same time: Kevin had just gotten married, and Sam was about to become a grandfather, with his son expecting a baby boy.

The players behind the track carry their own pop punk lineage. Drums are by Atom Willard, a founding member of Angels & Airwaves alongside blink-182’s Tom DeLonge, whose resume also includes The Offspring, Rocket from the Crypt, Against Me!, and Alkaline Trio. The track was produced by Carter Frodge, a former touring pop punk musician who also plays piano and synth on the song. It was mixed by three-time Grammy-nominated engineer Doug Weier, who has 21 Billboard No. 1 singles to his name, and mastered by Grammy-nominated Mike Cervantes of The Foxboro, whose credits include Kane Brown, Lauren Daigle, and Avril Lavigne. “Like You” is the latest from Keep Warm, following the band’s 2024 debut “Power Wagon” and 2025’s EP Terminals. The collaboration is a testament to the enduring legacy of pop punk and the ways in which the genre continues to inspire new generations of artists while honoring the pioneers who paved the way.
