From the Heart of a Drummer: Jaye King Releases Debut Album “All God, Not Me”
Singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Jaye King has released his debut Centricity Music album, All God, Not Me, a vibrant collection that blends enthusiastic pop, laid-back R&B, and feel-good funk with lyrics fueled by high optimism and an unshakable belief in a God who is in the business of redemption. A professional-level drummer, bass guitar, and keys player, King’s introductory album is a testament to his diverse musical gifts and his heart for ministry. The triumphant introductory single “Hard Place” turns the familiar “rock and a hard place” idiom on its head with personal depth set to a soulful, pop-centric groove, and a special standalone version featuring Blanca is also available. “What an honor to have Blanca on this track singing with power and authenticity how Jesus is the rock in a hard place,” King says. “I pray this song continues to give you hope where you may feel hopeless and remind you that no place is too hard for Jesus to reach you!”
Along with “Hard Place,” messages of grace and hope permeate tracks like the Gospel-inspired “Falling Into It” and the burst of sunshine that is “It’ll Be Alright.” Funk and rhythm color the bright “Good News,” while “I’ve Got Jesus” delivers a heartfelt anthem of faith and “Valleys” speaks to a season of testing, renewal, and victory. At its core, King’s original music speaks from the heart of a kid without a dad present in his life who grew into a man, husband, and father whose charisma and musical giftings are more than matched by his heart for family, the local church, and his mission to spread the Gospel message. From the Tampa area and now based near Nashville, King has traveled across America sharing his live, hope-filled performances that bring to mind entertainers like Michael Jackson and Bruno Mars. He has also shared the stage with artists like Rachael Lampa, Tasha Layton, and Jonathan Traylor, and was recently tapped as a drummer for a recording session that turned out to be with legendary artist Michael W. Smith. All God, Not Me is available now on all streaming and digital outlets.
