Iran Defies Trump’s Warning, Retaliates with Missile and Drone Strikes on U.S. Allies After American Attacks

5views

Iran has launched a series of retaliatory strikes against U.S. allies in the Middle East, defying President Donald Trump’s explicit warning that any such response would be met with force. The Iranian attacks on Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait came just hours after the U.S. military conducted a new wave of strikes against Iranian military targets, prompting Tehran to vow a “crushing” response. Jordanian authorities reported intercepting ten missiles, while Kuwait and Bahrain activated air defense systems to counter incoming drones. President Trump had warned that Iran would be hit “much harder and at a higher level” should it retaliate, but Tehran pressed forward, with Iranian state media claiming shrapnel from a U.S. strike had struck a wedding party, killing at least four people, including a toddler.

The U.S. military said its Tuesday strikes targeted Iranian air defense sites, radar systems, maritime assets, and communications sites linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. These strikes were in response to recent Iranian attempts to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and U.S. troops in the region. The escalating violence marks a dramatic breakdown in the relative military calm that had held for weeks, with both sides now locked in a dangerous cycle of retaliation. In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated, “I’m not trying to force Iran to the bargaining table. I like our position now much better, with almost total control of the Hormuz Strait, and their economy totally collapsing.”
