Matthew West Announces New Album ‘Jesus Is King,’ Releases “Back to Jesus”
Five-time GRAMMY nominee and award-winning hitmaker Matthew West has announced his 14th studio album, Jesus Is King, set for release on September 25 . The 12-song collection is available for pre-save now, alongside the release of a new single, “Back to Jesus,” out today. West shares, “I think I needed to make this record as much as I needed anyone else to hear it. Life has a way of making a lot of things feel bigger than they really are — our fears, our failures, the noise of the world around us. These songs became a reminder to my own heart that none of those things get the final word. Only Jesus does. Jesus is King.” The album follows his critically acclaimed 2024 project Don’t Stop Praying, which sparked a nationwide prayer movement.
The message of surrender and redemption comes into focus on “Back to Jesus,” written by West with AJ Pruis . The song offers a powerful reminder that no one is ever too far gone for grace, speaking to anyone who has wandered, carried shame, or believed the lie that there is no way back.
