Calgary-raised, Edmonton-based hip-hop artist Zaire Ink has released “Audio/Biography,” a defining single from his forthcoming debut album When You Meet Yourself, chronicling a single pivotal night that reshaped the course of his life—a night of family conflict, a dangerous decision, and the beginning of a spiritual awakening. The track opens with his parents’ divorce and the unraveling of the identity he had built, leading to a split-second leap from a moving vehicle during a heated family argument. “I don’t wanna be the one inside a broken home, why should I keep living when I’m out here on my own?” the lyrics ask with raw vulnerability, placing listeners inside that moment of crisis. What follows is a deeply personal exploration of mental health struggles, suicidal ideation, and the redemption found through faith—a journey that now anchors his work as a public speaker and youth mentor, helping young people navigate similar struggles through creative expression.
“Audio/Biography” serves as the emotional and thematic centerpiece of When You Meet Yourself, a ten-track album structured across three sections—Salvation, Sanctification, and Glorification—mirroring the progression from recognizing a need for change through ongoing growth and transformation. Written by Zaire Sealy alongside Jonathan Johansen and Nolan Sarnicki, produced by Rocket Beats and Producer X, and mixed and mastered by Afuhmbom and Get MXD, the single builds on the foundation laid by Zaire’s work as a two-time YYC Music Award recipient and co-founder of the faith-driven collective Two World Creatives.
