16 Years in the Making: Darwin Hobbs Returns with a Powerful New “Set List” for the Church

After a 16-year hiatus, renowned vocalist Darwin Hobbs is making a triumphant return to music with the release of Set List Vol. 1 (HeartArt Music / Tyscot). This isn’t just a personal comeback; it’s a gift to worship leaders and congregations worldwide. “It’s a grouping of songs that work well within a set list that any worship leader in the church can use,” Hobbs explains, emphasizing the project’s practical heart for ministry . Produced alongside 20-year-old prodigy Jaden Baker (grandson of celebrated pastor Sheryl Brady) and millennial Rachel James, the album blends the grandeur of Elevation Worship with the soulful depth of Shekinah Glory Ministry, creating a sound both epic and reverent.

The live recording at Elizabeth Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, is a masterclass in congregational worship. It opens with a sweeping instrumental, “Overture,” before launching into a soulful, updated cover of Ron Kenoly’s 1991 classic, “Be Glorified.” “Ron Kenoly made it popular, and I always liked it and wanted to record it,” Hobbs shares. “I’ve been singing it for 20 years. We spruced it up some and added a tag that I created” . The album is a powerful suite designed to lead hearts into deeper worship, featuring the riveting vocals of Antavia Jackson on “I Command My Soul” and gospel powerhouse Latrice Pace on the climactic finale, “All the Glory Is Yours” . Hobbs’s long-awaited return reminds the Church that some voices, grounded in timeless truth, are worth the wait.
