A devastating Iranian ballistic missile attack on a hospital in Southern Israel has left a trail of destruction and chaos. The strike on Soroka hospital caused significant structural damage, injuring nearly 100 patients and staff, and forcing the suspension of most medical services. The hospital’s statement described the dire situation, with only 350 of its 1,200 beds operational. Footage on social media showcases the extent of the damage, with collapsed department floors, pharmacies, and laboratories. Magen David Adom (MDA) attributed the relatively low number of casualties to “the mercy of God,” noting that one of the severely impacted floors had been evacuated just a day before the incident.

Despite the challenges, the hospital’s staff remains resolute. Professor Shlomi Codish, Director General, affirmed that Soroka’s values of mission, dedication, professionalism, and humanity are stronger than any missile. The hospital has launched a fundraiser to replace damaged medical equipment and ensure continued care for patients. Paramedic Eyal Rot described the scene as “chaotic,” with severe damage to buildings and injured civilians. As the hospital rebuilds and recovers, its commitment to providing life-saving care remains unwavering. The international community must come together to condemn such attacks on medical facilities and work towards protecting civilians and healthcare workers in conflict zones.
Iranian authority claimed it was a reprisal attack, the Israeli government strikes their medical facilities first.
