Faith in the Digital Age: Christian Media Consumption Soars Among Young Americans

A new study, “The State of Christian Media,” has revealed that 60% of Americans consume Christian media in some form, with young people leading this trend. Conducted by the Barna Group and National Religious Broadcasters, the study surveyed over 2,000 U.S. adults and found that Christian media consumption is on the rise, particularly among Gen Z and Millennials. According to Troy Miller, CEO of National Religious Broadcasters, the study’s findings are exciting and show that people are paying attention to Christian media, looking for encouragement and hope.

The study also found that social media is a dominant force in the Christian media landscape, with 64% of Gen Z and 58% of Millennials engaging with Christian social media accounts. This debunks the notion that Christian media is primarily consumed by older generations. Instead, younger consumers are driving the trend, primarily using digital media to access Christian content. Miller notes that this is amazing and shows that young people are looking for something meaningful.
The study also revealed that 66% of Americans find Christian media to be both valuable and trustworthy. This is a significant finding, indicating that Christian media is not only popular but also respected. As the media landscape continues to evolve, it’s clear that Christian media will play a vital role in shaping the spiritual lives of Americans, particularly among young people. With its broad reach and positive impact, Christian media is poised to continue making a difference in the lives of millions.
