In a world where words are cheap and actions speak louder than ever, Hopeful., the alternative rock band from Oceanside, California, is taking a bold stance with their latest single “Words Don’t Pay”. This surf-rock masterpiece is a raw, emotional, and unapologetic love letter to the wives of the band members, and a scathing critique of empty apologies. With its soaring guitar riffs, pounding drums, and heartfelt vocals, “Words Don’t Pay” is a sonic explosion that will leave you breathless.

Hopeful. Releases A Surf-Rock Love Letter to Their Wives with New Single 'Words Don’t Pay'

As lead vocalist Randy James poignantly puts it, “Our vows mean nothing if our actions don’t match them. ‘Words Don’t Pay’ is all about how our actions carry more weight than our words.” This three-minute track is a journey of self-discovery, transformation, and redemption, with a chorus that confesses, “Words don’t pay/She wants some change/Not just I’m sorry/Quit paying with sorry.” Produced by Gable Price, “Words Don’t Pay” marks a new era for Hopeful., one that promises to be filled with “a lot of really cool surprises that people aren’t going to want to miss”. With a series of singles set to release throughout the fall and into early 2025, Hopeful. is a band on the rise, and “Words Don’t Pay” is just the beginning.

ABOUT HOPEFUL.
Hopeful. is a SoCal indie alt-rock band, comprised of close friends Randy James, Hunter Jackson, Eddie Buelna and James Barragan. Rounding out the team is producer Gable Price (of the band Gable Price and Friends). Between growing up in church and spending their youth immersed in the Southern California surf and skate culture, the boys formed an eclectic appreciation for indie and alternative rock music. Hopeful. brings a unique and somewhat spiritual “toes in the sand” kind of anthemic indie rock vibe to their local San Diego music scene with a heart to write music that gives hopelessness a kick to the teeth and their listeners a reminder to hold on to hope.
