World Chinese Christianity Alliance Seeks to Unite Global Chinese-Speaking Church
The World Chinese Christianity Alliance (WCA) is on a mission to bring together the more than 100 million Chinese-speaking Christians worldwide, bridging the gap between unregistered house churches and government-sanctioned Three-Self churches in China. Launched by the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA), the WCA aims to create a global platform for Chinese ministries and outreach, sharing resources and promoting efficacy in their work. By doing so, the WCA hopes to fulfill the Great Commission and contribute to building goodwill among all groups.
Despite the challenges posed by geopolitical tensions and differing political views, the WCA remains committed to being a neutral platform, abstaining from political involvement. Instead, it seeks to provide a safe space for people to come together, share resources, and engage in academic exchanges, publishing, and media outreach. With its focus on building infrastructure and engaging with global Chinese Christians, the WCA has already made significant progress, including a recent fact-finding trip to China to meet with leaders of the Three-Self Patriotic Movement and the China Christian Council.
As the WCA moves forward, it faces the daunting task of addressing misconceptions within the Chinese-speaking community, particularly between house churches and Three-Self churches. However, with its track record of working with the global evangelical family and its commitment to inclusivity, the WCA is well-positioned to bring about greater understanding and collaboration. By providing a platform for resource sharing, training, and dialogue, the WCA hopes to empower Chinese-speaking Christians worldwide, ultimately contributing to the fulfillment of the Great Commission.
