Koryn Hawthorne Talks Faith and Healing, Prepares New EP for 2027
2x GRAMMY-nominated, Billboard Music Award and NAACP Image Award-winning artist Koryn Hawthorne recently joined Let’s Try This Again with B.Simone to talk about surviving and healing from abusive relationships, authenticity in music, and spiritual warfare. During the two-hour conversation, the two discussed her journey navigating ending three engagements and what each proposal taught her about love, loss, and herself; turning past childhood hurt and spiritual warfare into a message of hope through music and what she has learned about God’s restoration; “30 is the new 20” and how an unconventional path should be celebrated; real estate and homesteading, documenting her lifestyle on social media, and how her faith has impacted not only her music but the life she is building; and authenticity versus expectations as a Gospel artist and Christian woman in today’s world.
Signed to UMG, Hawthorne is a RIAA platinum-certified artist redefining contemporary Gospel through her powerhouse vocals, faith, and commitment to authenticity. At just 17 years old, she was a finalist on The Voice, and since then she has earned major industry accolades, including two GRAMMY nominations, a Billboard Music Award, an NAACP Image Award, and three GMA Dove Awards, with her hit “Won’t He Do It” spending a record-breaking 41 weeks atop Billboard’s Hot Gospel Songs chart for a female artist. She is currently working alongside producer J. White Did It (Doechii, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion) on her Big Gospel EP, coming in 2027. Her new song “His Favorite” is out now.
