LAGOS, NIGERIA – The wait is over. The prayers have been answered. And the world’s most anticipated celebration of Gospel excellence is finally coming home to the heartbeat of African entertainment.
In an announcement that has sent seismic waves of excitement through the Christian community worldwide, CLIMA Africa (The Intercontinental Gospel Awards in Africa) has officially declared that its landmark 10th Anniversary will take over the bustling, energy-charged city of Lagos, Nigeria, on October 9th, 2026.
What started as a humble seed of vision in August 2016 at the Christian Ecumenical Center in Abuja has now blossomed into a “household name” globally. From the serene capital of Abuja to the vibrant streets of Johannesburg for the 2025 edition—which drew attendees from 15 nations—the awards have now set their compass for Nigeria’s commercial nerve center. And according to the organizers, this golden jubilee is not just an event; it is a movement.
“Last year in Johannesburg, we witnessed the body of Christ unite like never before. For the 10th edition, we are raising the bar to a heavenly standard,” declared Mr. Uwak Mike, the visionary CEO of CLIMA Africa. “We are expecting a Pentecostal gathering of saints from over 20 countries. Lagos must be ready to receive the glory.”
But the CEO dropped a bombshell that is already changing the game. In a radical departure from the norm of online popularity contests, the 2026 Awards will be strictly non-voting.
“We are celebrating real impact makers, not those who can simply rally friends for votes,” Mr. Mike explained. “The Awards Academy will select suitable awardees based on tangible proof of impact.”

Entries will be accepted exclusively via the official website www.climaafrica.org from May 1st to May 31st, 2026. Suitable awardees will be contacted directly by the Academy.
