The British royal family came together for a special Sunday service at Crathie Kirk near Balmoral estate in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. King Charles III and Queen Camilla were joined by the Prince and Princess of Wales, known in Scotland as the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay, as well as the Princess Royal and the Duke of Edinburgh. This visit continues a long-standing tradition of worship at the Church of Scotland parish during their summer holiday, a practice also observed by the late Queen Elizabeth II.

A Spiritual Home for the Royals
The royal family’s attendance at Crathie Kirk highlights its significance as a spiritual home for them. A palace spokesperson noted, “Crathie Kirk has long been a spiritual home for our family,” reflecting the deep connection they have with the church. Meanwhile, the Prince and Princess of Wales are preparing for a new chapter in their lives, with plans to move to Forest Lodge in Windsor Great Park later this year with their children. The family will fund the renovations themselves, as Prince William oversees the Duchy of Cornwall estate, a substantial portfolio valued at over £1 billion.
