This experience took a profound turn when Mariano and his wife Stella adopted a newborn baby boy named Jeremy, who had been abandoned by his mother and spent his first weeks in the hospital detoxing. Mariano found guidance in Jeremiah 1, which led them to name the baby Jeremy, meaning “God has a purpose for this baby”.
