The Canadian worship collective Informants has announced their upcoming project, Hymns Reimagined, which offers a fresh take on timeless hymns. This project features three beloved hymns: “All Creatures,” “Doxology,” and “How Great Thou Art,” reimagined with real-time sampling, visual triggers, and ambient soundscapes. By blending ancient and personal elements, Informants aims to bring new life to songs that have been passed down through generations, providing a unique worship experience.

Personal Connections and Creative Process
Each song on Hymns Reimagined carries a deeply personal connection for the band. “Doxology” was recorded in response to the birth of the songwriter’s daughter, Indie, after years of infertility, featuring samples of her first singing. “All Creatures” incorporates the voices of children in Peru, highlighting their joy despite hardship. Meanwhile, “How Great Thou Art” features a synth patch created from a house worship gathering, capturing the voices of twenty people in a living room. These personal touches make the project even more special and meaningful.
Empowering Worship Leaders
In addition to the recordings, Informants plans to release complete stems packages, chord charts, and Ableton project files for all three songs. This will equip worship leaders with the tools they need to bring these reimagined hymns into church settings, allowing them to connect with their congregations on a deeper level. By sharing their creative process and resources, Informants hopes to inspire a new generation of worship leaders and provide a fresh perspective on timeless hymns
