111views

Jeff Deyo, renowned worship leader and former frontman of Sonicflood, has embarked on a new chapter in his ministry as the lead pastor at Trinity Church Waxahachie in Texas. This transition marks a significant shift for Deyo, who has spent over 14 years serving as a professor at North Central University in Minnesota. According to Deyo, the call to lead pastoral role was a desire hidden deep in his heart, and he sensed God’s guidance in this new direction.

A Sudden yet Meaningful Transition
The transition came together unexpectedly this spring, with Deyo receiving a pivotal text from a friend on May 24. “It rarely seems that God moves quickly, but it is true that He often moves suddenly,” Deyo reflected, highlighting the swift and unexpected nature of this new opportunity. As lead pastor, Deyo will preach weekly, lead staff, and shepherd the congregation at Trinity Church Waxahachie, a campus of Trinity Church Cedar Hill led by Pastor Jim and Becky Hennesy, whom Deyo has long admired.

A Season of Gratitude and New Beginnings
As Deyo prepares to relocate to Texas with his family, he expresses gratitude for their years of ministry in Minnesota, including their time at North Central University, Celebration Church Lakeville, and Cedar Valley Church. The Deyos will host an open house and going-away party on July 19, welcoming friends and supporters to share stories, pray, and bid farewell before their move. With this new role, Deyo looks forward to a fresh season of ministry, preaching, and leadership.
