Scottsdale, Arizona – A private jet owned by Vince Neil, the lead singer of Mötley Crüe, was involved in a devastating crash Monday afternoon at Scottsdale Airport, Arizona. The accident resulted in one fatality and three serious injuries, sending shockwaves through the aviation and entertainment industries.

Authorities confirmed that the jet’s landing gear failed upon arrival, causing the aircraft to veer off the runway and collide with a larger Gulfstream jet. The Learjet 35A, registered to Chromed in Hollywood, Inc.—a Wyoming-based company listing Neil as director—was carrying two pilots and two passengers at the time of impact.
Neil Was Not Onboard
A legal representative for Neil assured the public that the musician was not aboard the doomed aircraft.
“On board, Mr. Neil’s plane were two pilots and two passengers. Mr. Neil was not on the plane,” the statement reads. “Mr. Neil’s thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved, and he is grateful for the critical aid of all the first responders assisting today.”

Heroic Rescue Efforts
Scottsdale Fire Capt. Dave Folio detailed the urgent rescue efforts, revealing that one individual was trapped in the wreckage. Emergency responders successfully extricated the victim, who was transported to a trauma center in critical condition.
“Our thoughts and prayers are going out to everybody in the aviation community that this affects today,” said Kelli Kuester, Aviation Outreach and Planning Coordinator for the Scottsdale Airport.
FAA and NTSB Investigating
Officials reported that the aircraft had departed from Austin, Texas, before its catastrophic arrival in Scottsdale. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have launched an in-depth investigation into the incident.
“A Learjet 35A veered off the runway after landing and crashed into a Gulfstream 200 business jet on the ramp at Scottsdale Municipal Airport in Arizona around 2:45 p.m. local time Monday, Feb. 10,” the FAA confirmed in a statement.
Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy, stating, “I’m devastated to hear that a fatal plane crash has occurred at Scottsdale Airport. My thoughts are with the victims of this terrible accident and their loved ones.”

City Leaders Respond
Scottsdale Mayor Lisa Borowsky issued a statement acknowledging the severity of the incident.
“Today, Scottsdale sadly experienced an aircraft accident at our airport. Based on the information provided thus far, it appears at least one person is dead after two jets collided on the runway at Scottsdale Airport,” Borowsky said. “We are closely monitoring the situation, and we are in touch with airport, police, and federal agencies.”
The mayor extended condolences to the affected families and praised first responders for their swift action.
Airport Operations Suspended
Scottsdale Airport announced an immediate closure following the crash.
“An accident has occurred upon arrival to runway 21,” the airport confirmed in a post on X. “Fire Department is on scene assessing the situation. Scottsdale Airport’s runway is currently closed.”
First responders arrived within minutes of the collision, and emergency personnel continue to investigate the wreckage.
Capt. Dave Folio emphasized that the airport will remain closed for the foreseeable future as authorities work through the wreckage.
“On behalf of the city of Scottsdale, the fire department, the police department, Glendale, and everybody else that’s out here working this, where we’ve got our automatic eight partners out here currently working the scene. And we’re doing everything we can to extricate and save the one soul that’s still on board,” Folio said.
Authorities are expected to release further updates as the investigation unfolds.
