“Breakthrough” was birthed from a deeply personal journey for Lucy Taylor. Reflecting on the song’s inspiration, she shares, “This song was written over the course of a very difficult year in my life. I felt God put the word ‘Breakthrough’ on my heart but struggled to see where God was breaking through in my own adversity. The more I leaned into God, surrendering my own plans and ideals, the more He became clear to me and spoke to the depths of my soul. His faithfulness through my own trouble led to the precious and profound words in this song that caught me when I was falling and gave me strength to stand again.”
The production of “Breakthrough” features contributions from talented musicians Joshua Taylor, Edward Westley, and Anthony Parkes, with Franco Alani playing a pivotal role in bringing Lucy’s vision to life.
