Nigerian-British singer-songwriter and worship minister Joyce Ochelle, a celebrated voice in the UK Christian music community, returns with a powerful new single titled “The Great I Am”, featuring the esteemed Pastor Mrs. Meque Eunice Bako of RCCG Victory Assembly, Sheffield.
Joyce Ochelle, who resides in the UK with her family, has steadily risen as one of the most inspiring voices in contemporary Christian music. With a rich musical journey rooted in her early years of singing in church, Joyce continues to serve faithfully as the Music Director in the choir of her local church. Her passion for God and impactful worship expression has earned her widespread recognition across the UK, USA, and Nigeria.
A two-time nominee for “Song of the Year” on the UK Christian Charts, Joyce has also been nominated three times in the USA’s Texas Gospel Music Excellence Awards for “International Female Soloist of the Year” and other categories. In Nigeria, she clinched the award for Top Benue Gospel Artist of the Year at the ISADA Awards—an achievement that further solidified her international presence.
With four singles already released, including two chart-toppers that reached No. 1 on the UK Christian Charts, Joyce Ochelle now presents her fifth single, The Great I Am—a deeply spiritual piece birthed from obedience, prayer, and personal transformation.
The new single was inspired during a difficult period in Joyce’s life. After receiving a prophetic instruction to fast, pray, and wait upon the Holy Spirit for a song, she reluctantly obeyed—and in that place of surrender, The Great I Am was divinely given. The song served as a source of healing and peace for her, even as she battled through further intense trials during its completion. Through God’s grace, the message of the song stands as a declaration of His sovereignty, strength, and unchanging goodness.
