“Leaders Must Apologize To Nigeria’s Wounded Communities” – Pastor Tunde Bakare
Pastor Tunde Bakare, the Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, calls on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to tender a national apology to communities that have suffered repeated attacks and displacement due to insecurity across the country.
Speaking during a Sunday service message addressing governance, justice, and national responsibility, Pastor Bakare lamented the persistent loss of lives and the destruction of villages in several states, describing the silence of the authorities as deeply troubling.
He acknowledged that the president had taken initial steps to address the crisis but insisted that deeper action was required to restore confidence.
“Government must first accept responsibility for decades of failure to protect citizens from terrorism, banditry and other violent crimes,” he said.
He called on President Tinubu to take decisive action to restore security, rebuild affected areas, and strengthen trust between the government and citizens.
Pastor Bakare further urged federal and state authorities to prioritize a comprehensive security overhaul, emphasizing that apologies must be matched with reforms, compensation, and proactive measures to prevent further casualties.
