“Oracles of God”: CBN Films Unveils Powerful New Testament Epic Born Through Trials and Faith
A breathtaking new film titled “Oracles of God: The Story of the New Testament” is set to hit screens next month, offering audiences a deep dive into the historical journey of how the Gospels and New Testament were written and preserved through time. Produced by CBN Films and directed by Erin Zimmerman, the project has been nearly a decade in the making, tracing its origins back to 2017. Though filming began in 2019, the production faced unexpected delays — first from the COVID-19 pandemic, and later from the Hamas attack on Israel in October 2023, which halted shooting just as the crew was preparing to begin in Jerusalem.

Zimmerman, reflecting on the series of interruptions, described the journey as both testing and divine. “I asked God, ‘Why now? Why this delay?’ And His response was, ‘I want you to be here — with your people while this is going on,’” she told CBN News. The director’s words mirror the film’s theme of perseverance through faith and the divine orchestration behind the Scriptures themselves. With sweeping visuals, historical authenticity, and a message rooted in trust and divine timing, “Oracles of God” promises to be more than a historical documentary — it’s a cinematic testament to God’s enduring hand in history and in the hearts of those who bring His Word to life.
