Millions to Unite in Faith: Eleventh Annual “Bring Your Bible to School Day” Set for Oct. 2

266views

This Thursday, October 2, millions of Christians across the U.S. will take part in the 11th Annual “Bring Your Bible to School Day,” an event designed to encourage students of all ages to boldly live out their faith. Hosted by Focus on the Family, the initiative invites participants to carry a hardcopy Bible to school—or even to work—and use it as a chance to share why God’s Word is central to their lives. Last year’s event drew over 1.2 million participants, 70,000 schools, and 10,000 churches, and organizers are hoping to see as many as two million participants join this year. According to Program Manager Emerson Collins, the day is about celebrating two freedoms at once: freedom in Christ and freedom of speech in the United States.

The Eleventh Annual Bring Your Bible to School Day Is This Thursday, October 2

More than just a symbolic gesture, the event fosters community among Christian students, giving them strength and support in environments where faith is sometimes met with hostility. Coming on the heels of the 35th annual See You at the Pole prayer gathering, the timing highlights a season of bold student-led faith expressions. With mental health crises rising among youth—statistics show nearly 40% of high school students report persistent sadness and over 20% have considered suicide—the initiative is also being positioned as a source of hope and encouragement. Students are encouraged to prepare by brainstorming creative outreach ideas such as passing out Bible verses, hosting a Bible study, or gifting a Bible, while also leveraging social media to spark curiosity. Free resources and sign-ups are available at BringYourBible.org, ensuring that on October 2, classrooms across the nation will echo with the quiet but powerful presence of God’s Word.
