
In a shocking turn of events, Grammy-winning songwriter Brett James, renowned for co-writing Carrie Underwood’s hit song “Jesus, Take the Wheel,” has died in a plane crash in North Carolina. James, 57, was one of three people killed when his private Cirrus SR22T aircraft crashed near Macon County Airport in Franklin on September 18. The accident occurred during an apparent go-around attempt, with authorities investigating the cause of the crash.
