Renowned Nigerian pastor, Dr. Abel Damina, has urged Nigerians to stop shifting the responsibilities of governance onto God, stressing that divine intervention cannot replace the duties of elected leaders.

Speaking during a recent podcast, Dr. Damina emphasized that while faith and prayers are vital in the life of a believer, citizens must also demand accountability and good governance from those in authority.

“God will not do the work of government for you,” he declared.

“It is the responsibility of leaders to provide infrastructure, jobs, healthcare, and security. You cannot keep asking God to fix what leaders are elected to handle.”

The founder of Power City International further noted that many Nigerians often spiritualize socio-political issues instead of addressing them through civic engagement, education, and holding leaders accountable.

He stressed that true change comes when citizens understand their rights, participate actively in governance, and vote wisely.

His remarks have since sparked conversations online, with many Nigerians resonating with his message on the balance between faith and civic responsibility.
