Melania Trump Slams Hunter Biden with $1 Billion Notice Over Defamatory Claims

First Lady Melania Trump has put Hunter Biden on notice, demanding he retract and apologize for “false, defamatory, disparaging, and inflammatory statements” made about her in a recent video interview. In the video, titled “Hunter Biden Returns,” Biden claimed that Jeffrey Epstein introduced her to President Donald Trump, stating, “Epstein introduced Melania to Trump. The connections are, like, so wide and deep.” Melania Trump’s attorney, Alejandro Brito, sent a letter to Biden and his attorney, Abbe Lowell, on August 6, 2025, demanding immediate retraction and apology.

“A Pattern of Malice”
Brito argues that Biden’s claims are not only false but also damaging, having been widely disseminated across digital platforms and causing “overwhelming financial and reputational harm” to the First Lady. The attorney emphasized that Biden’s “source” for these claims is Michael Wolff, a “serial fabulist” whose article on the topic was retracted by The Daily Beast after receiving a cease-and-desist letter from Melania Trump’s team. Brito warned Biden that failure to comply with the demands would lead to legal action, including a potential lawsuit for over $1 billion in damages.

“Deadline Passed, Next Steps Uncertain”
The deadline for compliance was August 7, 2025, but a source close to the matter indicates that Biden did not meet the requirements. Instead, Biden’s team allegedly leaked the letter from Melania Trump’s attorney to a friendly reporter, suggesting concern over potential liability. As the situation unfolds, Melania Trump’s team remains resolute in pursuing retractions and apologies from those spreading “malicious, defamatory falsehoods.” Meanwhile, James Carville has apologized to the First Lady after repeating similar claims on his podcast, removing the offending video and editing out comments about Melania Trump.
