Seattle Church Rallies Around Family of Slain Congregant with Over $70,000 in Donations

In a heartwarming display of community support, Pursuit Church Seattle has raised over $70,000 for the family of LeBron Givaun, a 28-year-old congregant who was tragically shot and killed outside the church last week. Givaun, a young believer who had recently turned his life over to Christ, was attending a young adult ministry gathering when he was targeted in the attack. The church held a prayer vigil in his honor and launched a GoFundMe campaign to help his family with memorial expenses, funeral costs, living expenses, and ongoing needs.

The fundraiser, which exceeded its $50,000 goal, collected $71,643 as of Wednesday morning. The church community came together to honor Givaun’s memory and support his family during this difficult time. Pastor Russell Johnson remembered Givaun as a “born-again” Christian whose life was changing for the better. Givaun had recently gotten married, changed the type of music he made to highlight his testimony, and released a new single titled “I’m On Fire (With The Word of God)” just three days before his death.
