128views

In a heartwarming display of community support, Pursuit Church Seattle has raised over $70,000 for the family of LeBron Givaun, a 28-year-old congregant who was tragically shot and killed outside the church last week. Givaun, a young believer who had recently turned his life over to Christ, was attending a young adult ministry gathering when he was targeted in the attack. The church held a prayer vigil in his honor and launched a GoFundMe campaign to help his family with memorial expenses, funeral costs, living expenses, and ongoing needs.

A Community United in Grief and Support
The fundraiser, which exceeded its $50,000 goal, collected $71,643 as of Wednesday morning. The church community came together to honor Givaun’s memory and support his family during this difficult time. Pastor Russell Johnson remembered Givaun as a “born-again” Christian whose life was changing for the better. Givaun had recently gotten married, changed the type of music he made to highlight his testimony, and released a new single titled “I’m On Fire (With The Word of God)” just three days before his death.

Celebrating Givaun’s Legacy
Givaun’s transformation was evident in his music and social media posts. He had announced on Instagram that he was removing his “old music” and would focus on sharing God’s Word. His final post encouraged people to attend Pursuit Church Seattle, showcasing his passion for spreading the message of Christ. The community’s outpouring of love and support is a testament to the impact Givaun had on those around him.
