The last all-Christian town in the West Bank, Taybeh, is facing a dire situation as church leaders demand an immediate investigation into suspected settler attacks. A fire near the historic Church of St. George and a Christian cemetery has sparked outrage, with local priests warning that the violence threatens the town’s security and stability. The priests accuse settlers of grazing cattle on family farmland and expanding illegal outposts under military protection, further exacerbating tensions.

A Plea for International Support
In a joint statement, Fathers Dawood Khoury, Jacques-Noble Abed, and Bishara Fawaz urge the international community to provide support, legal assistance, and diplomatic pressure to protect Taybeh’s farmland and preserve its Christian heritage. Luke Moon from The Philos Project notes that while the incidents are disturbing, the reality on the ground is complex, with some Israeli leaders condemning settler violence. As Taybeh’s Christian community fights to remain rooted in its biblical home, the need for urgent action and solidarity has never been more pressing.
