A Labor of Love and Collaboration
The album’s genesis was a children’s book titled “Sparrows,” which inspired Gray to re-record a stripped-down version of the song. As Kipper Gray contributed his ideas, the project evolved into a full album, with each producer handling half of the tracks. The result is a rich, full sound that blends acoustic guitar with organic instruments like dulcimers, banjos, strings, and piano. Tracks like “Remind Me Who I Am” and “Blessed Be” showcase the duo’s creative approach, incorporating banjo and hammered dulcimer elements.

Celebrating the Intersection of Passion and Purpose
Gray’s new album celebrates the intersection of his deep gladness – sharing songs and stories – with the world’s deep hunger for nourishing music. As Gray notes, quoting Frederick Buechner, “The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet.” With Greatest Hits (Acoustic), Gray hopes to create a new connection with listeners, inviting them to fall in love with his music all over again.
