Life Sentence for London Sword Attacker Who Killed 14-Year-Old Daniel Anjorin

Marcus Arduini Monzo, 37, has been sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 40 years for the murder of 14-year-old Daniel Anjorin in a brutal sword attack in Hainault, north-east London. Monzo’s violent rampage lasted 20 minutes, leaving two police officers and several civilians seriously injured. The court heard that Monzo was under the influence of cannabis-induced psychosis at the time of the attack. Mr. Justice Bennathan described Monzo’s actions as “wicked” and noted the profound impact on Daniel’s family.

Daniel’s father, Dr. Ebenezer Anjorin, delivered a heart-wrenching victim statement, expressing the immense grief and loss his family feels. “We will not see him get married or have children. All the normal things parents hope for their children… All these hopes and aspirations have been cruelly snatched away from us,” he said. Monzo’s sentencing brings some closure to the family, but the pain of their loss will linger. The judge praised the bravery of the police officers involved in the incident, saying they showed “exemplary courage” in the face of danger.
