A Heartwarming Collection: Mark Bishop’s ‘Grandkids’ EP Set to Touch Hearts

Southern Gospel favorite Mark Bishop is set to release a special collection of songs that celebrate the joy and challenges of family life. The “Grandkids” EP, out on August 15, features some of Bishop’s most memorable songs about family, including the title track “Grandkids,” which became a surprise hit after its release. The EP takes listeners on a journey through the different stages of family life, from the earliest days of childhood to the joys and challenges of grandparenthood.

The collection includes classics like “Grow Up, Baby, Good and Strong” and “The Refrigerator Door,” a moving meditation on a parent alone. Bishop’s faith shines through in songs like “Sometimes God Whispers,” which offers reassurance of God’s love and care. The EP closes with the previously unreleased “Lightning Bug,” a whimsical tale about a firefly that reminds listeners to let their light shine. Bishop says he’s proud to release this special EP that celebrates the connection with family, adding that “God’s had a lot of great ideas… and one of His best has to be family.” The “Grandkids” EP is now available for pre-save/add ahead of its release.
