“My Leg Began to Disintegrate” — Cyrus Reveals Brutal Infection and Health Horror After Secret Street Shoot

LOS ANGELES, CA — Pop icon Miley Cyrus turned a dream music video moment into a medical nightmare after a late-night shoot on the Hollywood Walk of Fame ended with her in the ICU.

Miley Cyrus

In a jaw-dropping revelation on Jimmy Kimmel Live Thursday night, the 32-year-old singer detailed how filming her visual album Something Beautiful spiraled into a real-life horror story — one that nearly cost her her health.

“I filmed this video in October [2024], and by Thanksgiving in November, I was in the ICU,” Cyrus said, flashing her trademark wit — even while recounting a terrifying ordeal. “Just for a moment,” she added with a smile, “but still.”

The “Wrecking Ball” singer described how she had rolled around — literally — on the famous tourist-covered stars of Hollywood Boulevard for the video shoot. But what seemed like a gritty, glamorous artistic choice turned into a gruesome infection.

“My leg began to disintegrate… around the kneecap area,” she revealed. “And then the doctor goes, ‘Do you have any idea why you would have such a brutal infection on your kneecap?’”

What followed was a scene worthy of a medical drama.

Cyrus recalled her surgeon’s reaction — and it wasn’t flattering. “He looked at me and said, ‘Yuck.’ This is a guy who opens up cadavers. He’s seen the worst. They do brain operations! And I grossed him out!”

Despite the serious medical scare, Cyrus didn’t lose her sense of humor — or her candid charm. She explained the risky decision to shoot the video on the Walk of Fame in the dead of night to avoid permit fees.

“I had a big dream and a small budget,” she joked. “Well… I had a pretty good budget, but I spent it all on my clothes.”

She quipped about the experience: “Have you been to the Walk of Fame in the middle of the night? I thought it was my last day.”

But the ICU incident wasn’t Cyrus’s only health scare in recent months. The singer also shared that she suffered an ovarian cyst rupture while co-hosting Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party with Dolly Parton earlier this year — another medical crisis she powered through with trademark grit and determination.

“It was pretty traumatic… extremely excruciating,” Cyrus said in a recent interview with Zane Lowe. “And I did the show anyways… it was really hard on me.”

As Miley continues to reclaim her pop throne with raw honesty and resilience, fans can only hope the next video doesn’t come with a hospital bill.
