Court Sentences Late Gospel Singer Osinachi Nwachukwu’s Husband To Death By Hanging

Peter Nwachukwu, husband of late popular gospel singer, Osinachi, has been sentenced to death by hanging.

The late gospel singer‘s husband was sentenced to death by hanging by the Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Wuse Zone 2, Abuja.

Justice Nwosu-Iheme of the High Court, passed the sentence on Peter Nwachukwu on Monday.

Mr Nwachukwu was arraigned on 3 June 2022 by the Office of Attorney-General of the Federation (OAGF) on 23 charges, including culpable homicide punishable with death.

Other charges include criminal intimidation, cruelty to children, criminal intimidation of children, spousal battery.

Following pleas for leniency from Nwachukwu’s counsel, Reginald Nwali, the court nevertheless sentenced him to death by hanging on Count 1.

Justice Nwosu-Iheme subsequently sentenced Nwachukwu to death by hanging on count 1. He was sentenced to two years imprisonment each on counts 2, 3, 8,9, 12, 13 and 18.

You would recall that the late gospel singer passed away on April 8, 2022, at the age of 42.
