Billionaire Bishop’s Beachfront Exit: Televangelist Edir Macedo Lists $14.6M Porsche Tower Condo Amid Luxury Empire Scrutiny

234views

In a city where extravagance is the norm and skyscrapers kiss the Atlantic sky, the wealthiest religious broadcaster on Earth is quietly cashing out. Brazilian billionaire Edir Macedo, founder of the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God, has listed his ultra-luxurious beachfront condo in the iconic Porsche Design Tower Miami — now available for just under $14.6 million after a price cut, according to public records.

Porsche Design Tower

For most, this is just another jaw-dropping Miami listing. But when the seller is a televangelist worth $1.8 billion, who oversees a global evangelical empire, it raises more than just eyebrows.

Pulpits, Penthouses, and Porsche Elevators

The Porsche Design Tower is no ordinary address. Built in 2017 with an estimated cost of $560 million, this architectural spectacle boasts private car elevators — a billionaire’s dream that lets owners ride up to their sky-high units without ever stepping out of their Lamborghini or Rolls-Royce.

Macedo’s lavish residence sits in this mechanical marvel, which counts Lionel Messi, pop star Maluma, and actress Thalía among past and present neighbors. Monthly homeowners association fees? As high as $12,069. Because salvation, apparently, isn’t cheap — and neither is the view.

A Network of Shells and Shadows

But the opulence doesn’t stop there.

According to watchdog group Trinity Foundation, Macedo’s real estate trail in the U.S. includes a second $9.6 million condo in the same Sunny Isles Beach area. However, it’s hidden behind a shell LLC, a common method used to mask ownership — and Trinity claims there are no names publicly attached to the deed.

“Macedo’s empire includes media companies, banks, private jets, and high-end real estate,” Trinity warns. “It’s an international machine.”

And that machine is running on all cylinders.

Flying High: Private Jets and a Helicopter of Heaven

The Universal Church’s U.S. website insists it does not offer financial aid, yet its parent organization owns four private jets and a helicopter. Not exactly the profile of a humble, nonprofit religious operation.

In Brazil, Macedo is a media mogul controlling Record TV, one of the largest broadcasters in the nation, and Banco Renner, a financial institution. He’s not just a bishop — he’s an empire in human form, cloaked in faith and flying first class.

Controversies and Courtrooms: A Past Drenched in Allegations

Macedo’s spiritual journey has also been one through scandal and scrutiny.

In 2008, Brazilian prosecutors charged Macedo and nine associates with laundering $2 billion, allegedly using fake companies to funnel money abroad and back as business loans. While Brazilian courts did not convict him, the shadow lingers.

Then in 2019, Angolan authorities charged four of his church’s leaders with financial crimes. The result? 22 Brazilian church members expelled from Angola.

Despite all this, the Universal Church built a replica of Solomon’s Temple in São Paulo — a monument of biblical proportions for a modern-day king of prosperity.

Blessed Water, Billionaire Wallet

On the church’s 24/7 livestream, “Blessed Water” is being sold, with divine promises ranging from healing depression to curing cancer. But if you’re facing eviction or can’t pay medical bills, don’t expect a handout — the church website clearly states it offers no financial aid programs.

For a religious leader preaching salvation, the gap between sermon and lifestyle could hardly be more cavernous.

The Exit Plan or Just Another Investment Flip?

Is this condo sale a quiet retreat or just a shuffle in a billionaire’s ever-expanding portfolio? With global pressure mounting, some see it as a strategic divestment, while others view it as a typical high-end market move.

But one thing is clear: Edir Macedo isn’t just selling a property — he’s spotlighting a lifestyle of divine extravagance that’s both envied and questioned.

Faith Meets Fortune: The Billion-Dollar Gospel

As Palm Beach and Miami grow ever more appealing to the world’s ultra-wealthy, Macedo’s saga remains a case study in where faith, finance, and fame collide. In a world where televangelism can build cathedrals and condos alike, the line between spiritual leader and luxury mogul becomes increasingly hard to see — and even harder to question.
