Band Reeves’ Debut Single ‘Outrun You’ is a Powerful Story of Faith, Forgiveness, and Transformation

Palestine, TX-based Band Reeves brothers Jeramy and Cody have released their Centricity Music debut single, “Outrun You,” a heartfelt and uplifting song that tells the story of Jeramy’s transformational encounter with Christ. The song is a fusion of country and Christian musical genres, rooted in the brothers’ life on the farm and the faith that sustains them. Jeramy’s journey to faith was not a straightforward one. Despite making a public profession of faith at age 12, it wasn’t until he was 23 that he experienced a real relationship with Jesus. “I made a lot of stupid decisions as a teenager,” he admits, but his wife’s life-changing encounter with the Lord challenged him to re-examine his faith.
Jeramy’s story is one of redemption and forgiveness. After hitting rock bottom and considering divorce, he turned to the Bible and began to genuinely follow Jesus. “I got on my knees at two o’clock in the morning, put my face in the gravel; and I just told God, ‘I don’t know what happened to me when I was 12 years old, but I know where I’m sitting right now,'” he remembers. That moment marked the beginning of a radical transformation, and God started to heal his marriage. Today, Jeramy and his wife have been married for 14 years and have eight children. Their story is written into the lived-in lyrics of “Outrun You,” a backwoods-flavored, harmony-laced song that was co-written with Jeff Pardo, a GRAMMY Award-nominated and multiple Dove Award-winning artist.
“Outrun You” is more than just a song – it’s a testimony of God’s persistence and love. As Jeramy attests, “God is so persistent, even when we are running away from Him. Ultimately, you can’t outrun the Lord; you’re always going to continue running into Him, over and over.” The song is a powerful reminder that no matter how far we may stray, God is always chasing us, seeking to redeem and restore us. With its catchy melody and heartfelt lyrics, “Outrun You” is a must-listen for anyone seeking a deeper connection with God or looking for a song that will inspire and uplift them.
