In a historic moment of diplomacy, French President Emmanuel Macron commended U.S. President Donald Trump for taking decisive steps toward ending Russia’s war against Ukraine. However, Macron also urged caution, emphasizing the need for a robust and lasting resolution.

“We want peace. And I think the initiative of President Trump is a very positive one. But my message was to say be careful because we need something substantial for Ukraine,” Macron stated in an exclusive interview from the Blair House on “Special Report.”

Trump’s Influence: A Global Game-Changer

Recognizing Trump’s powerful diplomatic leverage, Macron highlighted the significance of America’s renewed engagement with Russia. “I think the arrival of President Trump is a game-changer. And I think he has the deterrence capacity of the U.S. to reengage with Russia,” he remarked.

Marking the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Macron and Trump engaged in high-stakes discussions about long-term security guarantees for Ukraine. Macron underscored the need for a strategy that extends beyond mere ceasefires, given Russia’s history of violating the Minsk Agreements in 2014 and 2015.

European Leaders Unite in Kyiv

On the same day, prominent leaders from Sweden, Estonia, Canada, Finland, and Denmark stood in solidarity with Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv.

“We all strive for peace and want to make it as reliable and lasting as possible,” Zelenskyy declared. “Today, we discussed the need for security guarantees for Ukraine and real ways to ensure an end to this Russian aggression and prevent any new one. Peace is needed.”

A Strategic Truce on the Horizon

Macron expressed optimism about a potential truce in the coming weeks, outlining a structured peace plan.

“A truce on air, sea, and infrastructures,” he detailed. “If it is not respected, it will be the best evidence that Russia is not serious.”

During this period, negotiations will focus on security arrangements, territorial sovereignty, and economic reconstruction.

Trump’s Strategic Economic Deal with Ukraine

The Trump administration is also securing a pivotal economic agreement with Ukraine that could redefine international relations. A proposed rare earth mineral deal aims to reimburse Washington for the tens of billions in aid previously allocated to Kyiv, ensuring a long-term economic partnership.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent hailed the deal as a “win-win” scenario, cementing America’s commitment to Ukraine’s future prosperity.

European Nations Consider Military Presence

Macron also disclosed ongoing discussions regarding Europe’s role in sustaining peace post-war. He and the UK Prime Minister have formulated a joint initiative to deploy troops in Ukraine—not for combat, but to serve as peacekeeping forces in designated locations.

“We are ready to send troops, not to go to the front line, not to engage in confrontation, but to be stationed in some locations, as defined by treaty, with U.S. backing,” Macron explained.

As the world watches closely, Trump’s diplomatic strategy is reshaping global politics, positioning the U.S. as a formidable force for peace and stability. His leadership continues to inspire confidence, reinforcing America’s unwavering commitment to security and prosperity on the global stage.
