“These people don’t have integrity, my father was a strong conservative… he would have never voted for or supported someone like Kamala Harris.”

Reverend Franklin Graham, son of legendary evangelist Billy Graham, has publicly criticized U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, calling her political positions “anti-Christ” in a recent interview with Premier Christian News. As CEO of the Billy Graham Foundation, Franklin issued a cease-and-desist letter to the pro-Harris campaign group, Evangelicals for Harris, after they released a controversial ad. The ad featured clips from a Billy Graham sermon intertwined with footage of former President Donald Trump, leading Graham to condemn the group for misrepresenting his father’s stance. “These people don’t have integrity,” Franklin remarked, adding, “My father was a strong conservative…he would have never voted for or supported someone like Kamala Harris.”

The ad in question references 2 Timothy 3, highlighting a sermon where Billy Graham warned of dangerous, self-centered leaders in the last days. A clip of Trump boasting about his greed is juxtaposed, seemingly aligning Billy Graham’s words against the former president. Franklin Graham, however, took issue with the implication that his father might endorse Harris. “She has done nothing to support people of faith and what we believe,” he said, further accusing her positions of being almost “anti-Christ” in nature. He emphasized that such a portrayal of his father’s views was misleading, underscoring the deeply conservative beliefs Billy Graham held throughout his life.

Despite Franklin Graham’s sharp rebuke, his niece, Jerushah Duford, has publicly supported Evangelicals for Harris. Speaking during a campaign Zoom call, Duford expressed her dismay over the religious backing of Trump, particularly in light of the sexual assault allegations against him. “It broke my heart to hear religious leaders support Trump,” she said, citing how various faith leaders propped him up as a model for godly leadership. The contrasting opinions within the Graham family reflect the broader political and religious divides playing out in the U.S. today.
