Iran Fires Massive Missile Barrage at Israel Amid Israel Ground Offensive into Lebanon
JERUSALEM, Israel – In a dramatic escalation, Iran launched over 180 ballistic missiles targeting Israel on Tuesday. The barrage lit up the sky as Israel’s defense systems intercepted the majority of the incoming missiles. CBN News witnessed several explosions in the air as sirens blared across the nation, sending residents to bomb shelters.
The missile strikes came in response to Israel’s ground offensive into southern Lebanon, launched Monday night to neutralize Hezbollah positions. Explosions were felt in Tel Aviv and near Jerusalem, signaling the gravity of the situation.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) aimed to clear Hezbollah terror threats and enable the return of 60,000 northern Israeli residents displaced by nearly a year of daily rocket fire. Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, IDF Chief Spokesman, emphasized that Hezbollah had transformed Lebanese villages near the border into military bases, preparing for an invasion of Israel.
