Ant Middleton Rallies Reform UK Conference: “Britain is Built on the Values of Christianity”

38views

Television personality and former Special Forces soldier Ant Middleton made waves at the Reform UK party conference in Birmingham with a bold speech on national identity, immigration, and Britain’s Christian foundations. Drawing parallels to his time on the hit reality show SAS: Who Dares Wins, Middleton urged the audience to consider the future of Britain through a lens of security and tradition.

The mistake that landed TV presenter Ant Middleton in prison

Introduced by David Bull, a fellow TV figure and self-identified Christian, Middleton took the stage to rapturous applause. He wasted no time addressing the nation’s challenges, comparing the country to contestants on his show, whom he strips down to their core identity before building them back up.

“I do a TV show called SAS: Who Dares Wins, and I strip them down so they have an identity, and build them back up,” Middleton said, weaving his reality TV expertise into his vision for Britain. “How do I do that? What I do with individuals, I bring them into a camp. I close the border… and who can come in? Those that benefit the individuals, i.e.: countrymen and women.”

His metaphor of a closed camp quickly struck a chord with the audience, receiving enthusiastic applause. He continued, cautioning that Britain’s lack of border security is undermining its environment and national well-being: “We haven’t got a secure camp because we don’t know who’s coming in. They’re certainly not benefitting the environment, they’re certainly not adhering to the rules and regulations, and they’re certainly not benefitting us as a nation.”

In a lighter moment, Middleton acknowledged the controversial nature of his remarks, hinting at his past run-ins with the media: “Now, interpret that as you will, let’s say that’s the border. I don’t want to get in too much trouble and be cancelled again.”

A Nation Rooted in Christian Values

Middleton’s speech took a reflective turn as he touched on the identity and history of Britain. According to him, the country’s foundation lies in its Christian heritage—values that have shaped its trajectory for centuries.

“British history, this country, is born on the values of Christianity,” Middleton declared, eliciting more cheers from the crowd. “Those values have worked for centuries and centuries to get us to where we are today.”

For Middleton, these enduring values are the bedrock of the nation’s success, a point that resonated with the audience at the Reform UK conference, a political party known for its advocacy of tighter borders, national sovereignty, and a return to traditional values.

A Controversial Figure Moves On

Middleton’s outspoken views are no stranger to controversy. In 2020, Channel 4 severed ties with him over concerns related to his “personal conduct.” His remarks on the Black Lives Matter movement and the Covid-19 pandemic drew criticism and led to his departure from SAS: Who Dares Wins—a programme that made him a household name.

Despite this, Middleton expressed no regrets during his speech, suggesting that it was time to “move on” from the programme. His message of resilience and standing by his convictions was clear, even as he navigates the fallout of his past comments.

As he wrapped up his speech, Middleton’s focus remained firmly on the future of Britain, calling for a return to its Christian roots and stronger national borders to ensure the country thrives. His words left the crowd energized, with his signature combination of military discipline and outspoken patriotism defining the tone of the event.

For Ant Middleton, the message was clear: Britain’s strength lies in its past, and only by returning to those fundamental values can the nation secure its future.
