Jazzmobile’s Summerfest 2024: A Celebration of Music and Diversity in the City That Never Sleeps
New York City’s parks and outdoor spaces are set to come alive with the sounds of jazz this summer, courtesy of Jazzmobile’s annual Summerfest 2024 series. From July 5 to September 20, nearly 30 jazz stars and emerging talents will take to stages across the city’s five boroughs, showcasing a diverse range of styles and genres. From straight-ahead and Latin to post-bop and blues, this year’s lineup promises to be one of the most exciting yet, with highlights including big band performances, pianists, trombonists, drummers, saxophonists, trumpeters, bassists, and vocalists.
Summerfest 2024 will also feature a range of special events and tributes, including a Centennial tribute to Max Roach, the Charlie Parker Festival, and the John Coltrane Festival. In partnership with SummerStage | City Parks Foundation, Jazzmobile will present a range of concerts and events that celebrate the city’s vibrant jazz scene. And the best part? All SUMMERFEST concerts are free, weather permitting, thanks to generous donors including The NYC Department of Cultural Affairs and Steinway & Sons.
