In a powerful fusion of art and activism, singer-songwriter Zeshan B has released his latest album, “O Say, Can You See?”, a 13-track collection of social justice anthems that blend Chicago soul, R&B, gospel, classical, and jazz influences. Executive produced by Preet Bharara, former U.S. Attorney for New York’s Southern District, this album is a testament to the transformative power of music in the face of adversity. Zeshan’s soulful voice and poignant lyrics tackle some of the most pressing issues of our time, from racial injustice to reproductive rights.

Each song on the album was written during a pivotal moment in recent American history, including the murder of George Floyd and the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Yet, despite the challenging topics, Zeshan’s music is infused with hope and courage, inspiring listeners to strive for a better future. The recently released single “Mountaintop” is a prime example, written in response to the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. With its soaring chorus and uplifting message, “Mountaintop” is a rallying cry for justice and equality.

Recorded live in Brooklyn, NY, “O Say, Can You See?” features a talented cast of musicians, including a chamber orchestra and singers from the Resistance Revival Chorus. This album is a testament to the power of collaboration and the impact that art can have on society. As Zeshan so eloquently puts it, “All my life, I’ve fought for justice with a microphone.” With “O Say, Can You See?”, Zeshan B is leading the charge for a more just and harmonious world, one song at a time.
