The Bishop said this during the first service of the church’ 21 days annual prayer and fasting. David Oyedepo ministered on the topic: ‘Understanding The Guaranteed Outcomes From The Altar Of Prayer And Fasting’.

During his ministration he stated that christians can only be empowered within their disposition to God. This is because being empowered doesn’t give christians the edge to be lord over others.

“Now, we are empowered for service and not for show. You know what that means? You can’t be empowered any more than you are disposed to serve. Luke 24:49. Acts 1:8. Empowerment in the Kingdom is not for show, it’s for service. Sir, you can’t be empowered for wealth beyond your disposition to promote God’s Kingdom with His given wealth. It looks funny, but that’s it. You may go behind the scenes and cut corners but it will show at the end. You are not empowered to sit down and lord it over people. ‘Yeah, I am’. You are empowered to serve His purpose, whatever capacity”, he said.

Speaking further, Bishop David noted that christians must have a ‘word encounter’ in the kingdom, that will cause their situation to change.

“Every change that anyone will ever experience in the Kingdom is triggered by a word encounter. Encounter with the word, a word just comes, opens up a new chapter. Isaiah 9:8. Isaiah 60:1.It is encounter with the word that triggers the change in the life of any believer. It’s not drama, it’s real. Let’s check our lives to find out that definite changes that if anyone may have experienced, is triggered by a word spoken to him by God directly or from His word that he treasured and walked with”, Oyedepo said.

The Bishop admonished christians to stop blaming other people for their misfortune, instead they should talk to God to rewrite the wrongs in their lives.

“So, this is not the time to be looking for who to blame. It is time to face God. Lift up your eyes to the hills. Those who look to the sun can’t see the shadows. Stop pointing accusing fingers. He said it in His Word. Settle down, face your life. ‘Something must be wrong with me that God must put right this time about every aspect of my life. Lord, I’ve come for an x-ray. I’ve come for a scan, MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) in your clinic. Sort me out. Jesus, my heart is open’. You’re going to see wonders”, Bishop Oyedepo said.
