Supernatural Encounters on College Campuses: A Pastor’s Testimony

Texas pastor JP Pokluda has witnessed a surge of spiritual activity on college campuses across the United States, with over 20,000 students turning to Christ in the past two years. Pokluda attributes this movement to the power of prayer and the Holy Spirit’s work. “I just think we’re right in the middle of something really special,” he said. “The most incredible time, at least in my generation — in my lifetime, I’ll say.” As the author of “Your Story Has a Villain: Identify Spiritual Warfare and Learn How to Defeat the Enemy,” Pokluda has become increasingly aware of the supernatural, noting that “God’s winning” despite the enemy’s attacks.

Pokluda’s own life has been marked by miraculous encounters, including a notable incident with his hairdresser who had been praying for proof of God’s existence. “She started freaking out and she was like, ‘I prayed this morning. I said, ‘God, if you’re real, you’re gonna have to send someone to tell me that you’re real,'” he recalled. Such experiences have left Pokluda “stopped being surprised” by God’s interventions. His book aims to equip readers with a deeper understanding of spiritual warfare, which he believes has been a missing piece in his theology for over 18 years.
Through his ministry, Pokluda has heard numerous testimonies of deliverance, healing, and freedom from various struggles on college campuses. “I’m just hearing … [about] deliverance, freedom [from] cutting, suicide ideation [and] healing from mental illness, physical ailments. I’ve heard physical healings,” he shared. These stories demonstrate the profound impact of faith and the supernatural on young people’s lives, highlighting the significance of spiritual support and guidance during these formative years.
