SEU Worship’s ‘A Forgiving God’: A Journey of Mercy and Redemption

SEU Worship has released their new nine-track album, “A Forgiving God”, a powerful project that explores themes of mercy, redemption, and God’s unwavering presence. Recorded live at Southeastern University in Florida, the album features a unique blend of strings, folky instrumentation, and indie textures. This new release is a reflectiLon of the students at the university, with each song wrestling with universal issues like shame, longing for home, and the decision to follow Jesus.

The title track, “A Forgiving God”, is a heartfelt anthem inspired by the parable of the prodigal son in Luke 15, calling listeners to come home to the God who forgives, no matter how far they’ve wandered. According to Chelsea Plank, “A Forgiving God is a collection of songs shaped by the grace, nearness, and love of God”, birthed from the sounds and moments of their campus community. The album reflects the group’s experience in chapel services, highlighting God’s ways being better than ours. With its release, SEU Worship has shared a live video of the title track on YouTube, inviting listeners to journey through the themes of mercy and redemption.
